Credentials - Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (GC Bylaws Article VII. Ministry)

a. Salvation-according to John 3:5
b. Baptism in the Holy Spirit-according to Acts 2:4
c. Evidence of call-Clear evidence by a personal conviction, confirmed
d. Christian Character-A blameless Christian life and good report according to Titus 1:7; 1 Timothy 3:7
e. Doctrinal position-A thorough understanding and agreement with the Statement of Fundamental Truths
f. Assemblies of God polity-A satisfactory working knowledge of the principles, practices and purposes of the Fellowship through a study of the General Council and District Council Constitution and Bylaws.
g. Voluntary cooperation and commitment to the Fellowship-An active loyalty to our constitutional agreements.
h. Basic education requirements-Successfully complete equivalent training, pass credentialing examination, be interviewed by credentialing committee.
i. Mandatory screening-All applicants must be screened for social security verification, criminal history and financial indebtedness or tax liens.
j. Marriage status-Married persons or their spouse with a previous spouse still living must be considered for ecclesiastical annulment, pre-conversion divorce or infidelity/abandonment recognition by the General Council before being considered for a credential.
