Letter from the Superintendent

March 15, 2021

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship (koinonia), in the breaking of bread, and in prayers,” Acts 2:42, NKJV.

This year Network Conference will be hosted by Muldoon Community Assembly on April 27-28. The selected theme for this year’s conference is, “Koinonia.” We look forward to welcoming National Chi Alpha Directors Scott and Crystal Martin as the featured speakers. Crystal also serves as the Director for the AG Network of Women Ministers.

Network Conference will have a different look this year. We will be following local mandates and CDC guidelines in regards to COVID-19 mitigation protocols. At the time of this writing, protocols state masks must be worn and six feet of social distancing between households should be maintained. It also means we will not be able to host the various food related events, such as luncheons. If local mandates change by the time of Network Conference, we may be able to loosen the protocols. We are very thankful to MCA for their help in facilitating a safe Network Conference.

Because of the social distancing requirements, there is less seating available in the sanctuary, although there will be overflow seating, and the services will be livestreamed. Due to the reduced seating, attendance at Network Conference will be limited to ministers, spouses, and church delegates.

While Network Conference will have a different feel this year, there are several things that will not change. We are praying for a move of the Holy Spirit as we gather together. The blessing of sharing koinonia fellowship with one another will be real and present. We will be celebrating with those who are being credentialed and receiving offerings and pledges for various projects. Important business will be conducted, as we prayerfully consider several resolutions and elect officers. Voting will be in-person this year, as normal. The only difference is that rather than having caucuses during business, the Regional Presbyter nominations and Regional Committee Person elections will take place electronically on April 8. I encourage you to make every effort to make plans to attend the 2021 Network Conference.

This packet has been prepared to inform and assist with your preparations for Network Conference. If you have any questions at all, please contact our office, and we will do our very best to assist you.

Dori and I are looking forward to seeing all of you in Anchorage!

Sincerely in Christ,

Bill Welch
